Personally I don't use filter papers, I do not feel they are necessary. If anything gets into the bowl I strain it through a little plastic old fashioned tea strainer which does the job just as well. It is not necessary to pick the flowers, if it is a large bunch of flowers, you can simply place the bowl in the centre and the flowers will send their energies into the bowl. (For those who can see energies, this is like an arc of light that comes from the flowers into the bowl).
