Claudia apologies for the delay in getting back to you, the article Tammy suggested is a good start. Personally I don't use filter papers, I do not feel they are necessary. If anything gets into the bowl I strain it through a little plastic old fashioned tea strainer which does the job just as well.

It is not necessary to pick the flowers, if it is a large bunch of flowers, you can simply place the bowl in the centre and the flowers will send their energies into the bowl. (For those who can see energies, this is like an arc of light that comes from the flowers into the bowl).

Elly, your Self Heal creations sound so lovely! I am more anxious than ever to see her growing again this year. She hasn't made an appearance yet, but soon I think.

I use Self Heal in anything where healing is required. I made a flower essence of it for emotional healing, and I add that and the Self Heal flower oil I made to any creams, lotions and oils I make up for my clients. Self Heal can be added to any other type of blend as it will enhance the healing properties of all the other ingredients without detriment.
Enjoy this little beauty!

Amber -- thank you! Your medicine garden sounds just lovely. What do you have growing there?
I've lived in the city my whole life until recently... very close to my heart :-)

Wow. GREAT post. How beautiful.
Hmmm. I am just now getting to know my "medicine grove", a spot not too far from my home, nestled in between some low-income housing and a large community park. I'd love a more remote spot, but the medicine is abundant and I am learning the spirit of the place and the plants.
