Nice! After many experiments, I've come to the conclusion that the way Dandelion flower oil works is to relax fascia and connective tissue, which makes a huge impact on tight, tense painful areas -- releases the bound up tissues and lets the circulation flow and relax. I've seen it work best when rubbed in lightly... a deep rub seems to be counter-effective in my experience. I LOVE this oil!

I made two batches of dandelion flower oil this spring by the double infused heated method and they are both a beautiful golden colour. I was taking it to show at a talk recently at an old people's home and one of the women said she had an aching shoulder so I gave it to her to rub on and she said it felt much better afterwards!

How exciting! I found this by doing a search on Mold in Dandelion oil. I haven't found any in my first beautiful batch yet but I'm keeping a close eye on it. I'm taking a wise women traditional herbology course with a wonderful teacher who mentioned to let your dandelion flowers dry for about an hour before creating the oil. So far so good. But, I did notice that some of the petal are turning to see in my jar! We'll see. I can't wait to dance with the amazing oil. :) Peace!

thanks for this info, Frances. I've yet to try a hot infused oil. Do you cover your jar while it is infusing?

greetings~
i have had similar challenges with mold in herbal oils
yet have found an easy way to make beautiful and effective mold free oils. Cover your herbs/flowers with your oil of choice in a glass jar~ place the glass jar in a water filled crock pot set on low~ infuse this way ( refilling water to keep level up ) stirring occasionally for 3-4 days. Voila! truly a wonderful way to make fresh plant oils.
